Werner Puschra, Executive Director
Dr. Werner Puschra is the Executive Director of the New York office of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung. Previously, he was the Head of the Africa Department at FES Headquarters in Bonn. He also served as resident director of the foundation's field offices in Peru (1986-1990), South Korea (1990 - 1994) and Egypt (1994 - 2000). He holds an MA in Economics and a PhD in Political Science from the Free University of Berlin.

Jennifer Landt, Finance and Administration
Jennifer Landt is the Office Manager of the New York Office. She joined the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in 2008. Previously, she obtained a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Rostock in Germany.

Sara Burke, Policy Analyst
Sara Burke joined FES-NY in August 2008. For more than ten years, Sara has written and produced features on the economy and international social affairs and has worked as a project director and editor for both independent and corporate media. Her current research focuses on financial regulation and the role of the International Financial Institutions. Previous research looked at World Bank poverty estimates, social movements and education. Sara has a BA from Reed College, a Masters in Communication from Stanford University and economics work at the New School for Social Research.

Volker Lehmann, Policy Analyst
Dr. Volker Lehmann is a Policy Analyst with the FES New York office. He currently focuses on international peace and security issues, particularly with regards to the United Nations, and on the various aspects of reforming the UN. He previously worked as a biotechnology consultant and journalist, and he was the editor of the journal “Biotechnology and Development Monitor” at the University of Amsterdam. He obtained a Masters in Biology from the Free University of Berlin and a PhD in Political Science from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York.
