Jürgen Stetten, Executive Director
Jürgen Stetten has served as the Executive Director of the New York office of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung since June 2005. Previously, he worked at the Department for Development Policy at FES Headquarters in Berlin as well as in the foundation's field offices in South Africa, Vietnam and South Korea. Jürgen Stetten occasionally writes and publishes articles - the latest ones on "Multilateral institutions: building alliances, solving global problems" and "China and globalization". Patricia Reindl, Finance and Administration
Patricia Reindl has been the Office Manager of the New York Office since December 2006. She joined the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in 1991. Previously, she has worked at the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftungs headquarters in Bonn and Berlin and at the FES-Office in Santiago, Chile. e-mail contact

Frank Schroeder, Senior Economist (Currently on Sabbatical)
Frank Schroeder has been working as Senior Economist at the New York Office of FES since 2001. He is author of numerous international briefing papers with a particular focus on development finance, debt and global governance reform. Frank was previously employed as a research fellow at the Center for Economic Policy Analysis (CEPA) at the New School for Social Research in New York and held various positions with the German Labor Movement. He received an MA in Economics from the Hamburg School of Economics and Politics in Germany, and an MA in Finance from the New School for Social Research in New York, where he is currently completing his PhD. e-mail contact

Volker Lehmann, Policy Analyst
Volker Lehmann is a Policy Analyst with the FES New York office. He currently focuses on international peace and security issues, particularly with regards to the United Nations, and on the various aspects of reforming the UN. He previously worked as a biotechnology consultant and journalist, and he was the editor of the journal “Biotechnology and Development Monitor” at the University of Amsterdam. He obtained a Masters in Biology from the Free University of Berlin and a Masters in Political Science from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, where he is currently completing his PhD. e-mail contact
