
Internship at FES New YorkThe office of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES) in New York serves as a liaison between the United Nations, FES field offices and partners in developing countries to strengthen the voice of the Global South. It contributes to the international debate on globalization with seminars, conferences, roundtables and publications pertaining to development, economic, social, and security policy issues. Located within walking distance from the UN headquarters, FES New York is ideally situated in the midst of all the relevant actors from missions, the UN secretariat, and academic research institutions. Students specializing in international affairs, development and economic policy who want to take advantage of this challenging exposure are invited to apply for an internship at the FES New York office. Internships with FES New York are three to four months long and are unpaid. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis. German candidates are requested to apply for a J-1 visa throughInWent, which also provides for some financial assistance. Applicants are requested to make their own arrangements for health insurance and housing, but the office can assist in finding an accommodation. At the beginning of the internship, interns and the FES office will agree on a work plan, which will entail three different sets of activities:
